Starting a website flipping business is like starting any other business. It is not a bed of roses to start a business. You will find that roses have thorns on their stems, and just like roses learning how to start a website flipping business can be sticky!

The business of flipping websites has its own unique challenges for the new and aspiring marketer. The essential skills of website flipping must be learned in order to make a living online selling websites.

Website Flipping is a Real Business

If you browse any of the popular website selling market places you will find new sellers who list the sites at the two far ends of the pricing spectrum. Some new sellers will list valuable sites extremely low. While other new sellers will list sites that are not very good at extremely high and unreasonable prices. Both groups will get frustrated and not understand why they can’t make decent sales and eventually decide that site flipping is too hard.

A good site flipping project should be based on what the market is currently looking to buy. In other word’s you need to plan your projects with the buyer in mind from the start. This requires the marketer to conduct research to determine what is the appropriate niche topic to pursue, and what type of content is needed on the website.

For example, if you are targeting the weight loss niche, a site flipper who registers a domain name on “weight loss tips”, and builds content around the topic of loosing weight will find interested buyers. The content on the site should be unique and be able to pass a run through Copyscape.com.

Buy a Website Flipping eBook or Video Tutorial

A website flipping ebook or video tutorial is a good place to start for the marketer getting started in flipping sites. These resources can serve as a road map and guide to a successful site flipping experience. A good ebook will help you to uncover profitable niches, pitfalls associated with the business, and valuable resources that you can use to jump start your business.

Many ebook authors offer support for their customers. It is not uncommon that you will encounter problems from time to time. Having a mentor to help you through some of the problems will be invaluable.

Use Unique Content for Your Projects

One of the best things you can do to get great prices for your sites is to use unique content on your sites. It gives your sites increased value to the potential buyer. You can use PLR (Private Label Rights) content, but it is best to have it re-written. It is possible to sell a site with PLR content, but you must have other features on the site that will make it attractive to the buyer. You can combine PLR with other original content on your site.

Monetize Your Website

Even if you are selling turn-key websites you should try to monetize your sites. Not just for the potential buyer, but for yourself as well. Monetizing the site will allow you to earn money while you are waiting for the site to sell. You can monetize your sites with affiliate products, CPA offers, or AdSense.

Know What is Selling Now

It is futile to spend the time building websites that no one is interested in buying. Make sure you do your research to find niches that will attract buyers to your sites. There are several quality niches that will provide lots of buyers.

If you’re involved in flipping a week or so old websites, you’ll know how much important free and quick influx of traffic is. Prospect buyers weigh traffic statistics highly, and that’s why you should care about it. And it’s not all that hard – getting around a 1000 unique visitors in a week is definitely not hard. I’ll just explain a few methods you could use to generate the quick buzz traffic.

There are a lot of methods you could implement, some are not as effective as others. Some can give you instant traffic, while others may take a fair amount of time. Social bookmarking, Social networking, Forums and Blog traffic are some of the common methods, and I’m going to describe them.

- Social Bookmarking: Definitely one of the best methods to get almost instant traffic. If you’ve published something “first”, if you’ve published something “interesting”, if you’ve discovered something cool, you’ll see it getting a lot of response and thus end up being on top of the charts. It can send server crushing traffic your way. Having a good network on social bookmarking websites such as Digg, StumbleUpon helps spread the news fast.

- Social networking: If you haven’t heard of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace then you’re probably sitting beneath a rock. They are the trend now a days, and leveraging the power of these, you can boost up your traffic manifold. Work over building up a decent following and when you need traffic, you just need to send a short pitch to these followers.

- Blogs: There are hundreds of thousands of blogs out there, and you can find a good number of them in any niche. When you comment on their posts, you get their traffic to see those and probably follow you up to your website. It won’t give you a blast of traffic, but certainly worth consideration.

- Forums: If you’ve high post counts at various forums, you may want to leverage the power on your website flips. Put an attention grabbing link in your signature and see traffic tricking in. I’ve personally witnessed thousands of uniques coming this way.

Creating and selling websites is the process known as “flipping”. It’s a term that is thrown around quite a bit on the Internet since virtual real estate has taken the net by storm. Many savvy Internet marketers develop websites within profitable niche markets, make them profitable then flip them for quick profits. The intention was never to keep the website long term which is how the turn “flip” comes into play. Your entire goal was to develop the site, get it to a certain level, and then flip it for a profit within a few months.

The amount of time before you flip can vary, but in most cases it is done within a few months. I’ve personally witnessed flips done in markets such as “Photoshop Tutorials”, “Free Web Hosting”, and even with products that were created with the sole intention of later flipping for a profit. The goal behind flipping is to first choose a profitable niche, have the website developed for as little cost as possible to ensure your overhead is low, then make that website profitable in a short period of time to quickly sell for profit.

Website flipping is so popular that entire ebooks have now been dedicated to the topic to go over all the aspects from choosing a niche, creating the website, ensuring the site is profitable, to then flipping the website for profit. You’ll find that the most crucial aspect with regards to website flipping is the selection of a niche, so keep this in mind, as choosing the right niche will determine how much income you can possibly generate.

As with any venture, the more you put into it, the more money you generate. With the website earning good money, you can in turn flip for a large profit. Keeping and maintaining large profit margins will also have a huge part to play with the website flipping process. I’ve personally had websites created that cost less than $100 to create then I flipped those websites within a few months for over $2,500.

There are many people who have decided to turn website flipping into a full time business. Their only job is to create new websites in profitable niches that they can later flip for a stream of income. Keep in mind that you earn money for the period of time you own the website, along with the money generated after the flip. With this known, you can now see why many people are now looking to create websites geared specifically for flipping.

I must confess that finding a profitable niche from which one can earn from online, is not the easiest of tasks. The surest way to earn cash from affiliate marketing online is via niche targeting. Niche marketing involves an affiliate marketer targeting a profitable program or product that is in high demand thereby enhancing the affiliate marketer’s chances of earning highly.

In this article I will articulate the most outstanding ways to find a profitable niche where to start your online business. To do this successfully, you don’t need to spend money because there are free tools and skills available online that can be employed.

Look at your passion

Top on the list of tools that you can employ to find profitable affiliate niche is to look inwards. Find out what you like, what do you enjoy doing? What are your hobbies? What do you love doing? What is that one thing you will do with ease or you are knowledgeable about, these are very viable links or pointers to online riches. Write them down they can be turned to profitable niches online.

Research or Brainstorm

There are free tools available online where any kind of research work can be carried out easily. Sites like Google.com, Wikepedia list of topics are fantastic places to start where you can gain great insight into any subject. Another site you can look up is shopping.com consumer demand index, you will find a list of the hottest products online searchers are looking for earnestly.

The Technorati popular list, a leading blog search engine, is another source site worth mentioning, you have tens of hundreds of what is popular in the news compiled from thousands and millions of blogs. Hot trends from Yahoo! Buzz and Google Trends are also very vital places to do online brainstorming for profitable niches.

Find out niche that have high profit potential

Google AdWords Keyword tool or Free WordTracker Keyword is another powerful tool you can use to find a niche where a large numbers of people are searching for on a daily basis. Understand that the major reason they’re searching using those keywords is because they’re looking for solutions to their needs. You can use the same tool to estimate the profit potential of the niche you are interested in. If the niche has a high cost, i.e. around one dollar per click, than the niche has a high profit potential if you will be using AdSense to monetize your site.

One other important way to monetize your blog is using affiliate programs or networks like Clickbank or Commission Junktion to find products related to your niche that pays a minimum of $20 for sale to generate a good profit. Outside of these two networks, you can also employ Google for search query to find other useful affiliate programs, type niche keyword + affiliate. You will have a list of affiliate programs in your niche, visit a few of them, check their viability and potentials to determine their payout and sign for the reasonable ones.

Website Flip Domain Picking

April 2, 2009 by Admin

One of the first things that you are going to do when website flipping is to create your domain name. When selecting your domain name there are several things that you should do to ensure that you have a great domain name that will attract buyers and work well with the search engines.

Here are 7 tips for selecting a domain name:

1. It’s Best To Use A .com

Most buyers will prefer a dot com domain name. Especially if the site is not currently making any money. If you are going to monetize the site thoroughly before selling it and have it bringing in AdSense revenue or product sales, then having a dot com is not so important.

2. The Shorter The Domain Name The Better

A short and catchy domain name is preferable to buyers and customers. Try to keep the domain name to 3 keywords or less if possible. One other benefit of having a short domain name is that you can get a higher domain name appraisal with a shorter name.

3. Make The Domain Name Keyword Rich

A keyword rich domain name will help with organic SEO web traffic. It will also help to sell the site to a buyer. In your sales letter you will be able to state to the buyer that your domain name is a keyword and that keyword is searched for XX number of time per month.

4. Try To Make The Domain Name Memorable

You may want to sacrifice the SEO angle and come up with a truly unique and memorable domain name. One technique for doing this is to come up with your own words by combining two words or word parts. Jimmy D. Brown uses this technique to perfection. Some of his most popular sites are Nicheology (Niche + ology) and Membernaire (Membership + Millionaire).

5. Avoid Trademarks

Avoid selecting domain names that have the potential to violate trademarks. This will save you and your buyer a lot of grief and aggravation.

6. Consider Using Expired Domain Names

Another technique that you may want to use is to try and find expired domain names that you can purchase. The benefit of this is that some of these expired domain names are still receiving traffic from the search engines. You’ll be able to use that information to help you sell your site.

7. Consider Purchasing An Existing Domain Name

One last technique to consider is purchasing an existing domain name. Now I don’t recommend this if all you’re trying to do is make a quick sale, but if you have in mind to create a site that you will develop and monetize over several months then this might be an option for you.

Bullseye Niche Targeting

April 2, 2009 by Admin

We have seen the importance of the niche market, and now we are going to know step by step, how to target that niche. We must select that niche first, than find what they are eager to buy, and give them what they want.

Here is a list of various niche:

health and fitness, religious and spiritual, financial reinvestments and trading, travel, in hot countries, trekking, camping, going to the sea, or may be the mountain, foods, cakes, or fish, or meet, vegetarian peoples, people who loves safari, the desert…

Niche market is not something you will not find, don’t worry, there are plenty of them everywhere.
You will find your niche in places like click bank marketplace, or in general directory groups, or at amazon.com, you can also find them in yahoo groups and commingled.
you should watch infomercials.
You should take the first general idea, then go to a more specific idea.

For example you are interested in martial arts, you may choose a niche in self defense, then self defense for women, then define, let’ say for example: krav maga, and you continue like that until you find the niche which will make you profit.
You will find a lot of free tools on the web to help you to find your niche.

Go to alexa.com, you will know the traffic rank for websites in that niche, how many visitors visited that site per million visitors.
You should also find related keywords, you can go to kwmap.net, or use word tracker, and there is a lot of these tools disposables for you.
you should also find out if there is a lot of portal site related to that niche,, see the number of sites listed there.
You will then check the growth of that niche, is the niche growing, or is it in decline?
Search for competitors, as they can become your partners in joint ventures.

Now it is time to act: you may have three ideas or more, but you want to start a project, then another one. So you got to test all your idea, and you will keep the one that you found most profitable.

Website flipping has emerged as one of the most lucrative businesses on the internet today. There is no doubt that website flipping if done professionally can result in unimaginable profits, that too with very little or no investment.

There are primarily two ways of entering into the exciting business of website flipping:

1) Creating one’s own websites: creating one’s own website can save one from any investments as one can create a great website with quality content, purchase an impressive domain name, monetize the flip website to a required level and then find a suitable buyer for it on one of the popular auction sites.

2) Purchase an existing website and renovate it: It is an easier and faster way of entering the business; however it does require some investment.

Some important steps involved in making money through website flipping are as follows:

1) Acquiring a good domain name: A domain name which is short and sweet, and at the same time reflects the gist of the content of the website can take any business a long way. Hence, acquiring a good domain name plays a very important part increasing the value of your flip website.

2) Create or find a template: The next important step is to create or find a suitable template which goes well with the determined niche. One also needs to have basic HTML skills to ensure that all the other pages are linked to the home page. Adding free Photoshop templates to the flip websites will give the website a very professional look, increasing the value of the websites considerably.

3) Monetize your flip website: Monetizing a flip website will ensure that your flip website attracts high paying buyers. Potential buyers seriously look for monetized sites as it saves them considerable time and energy. They just have to start the promotion of the website through affiliate links. While monetizing your site, it is highly recommended that you consider products only from Clickbank and AdSense. Unlike other sites, these two sites are very liberal, and hence the buyer will not face any problems in the future.

4) Sell your flip website: Before selling your flip website, ensure that you covered all the necessary steps like increasing the traffic and the sales. One should also try to improve the ranking of the website on search engines; as such websites are sold for a higher price. Once you are sure that everything is perfect, you can sell the flip website on sites like eBay, Digital Point or Sitepoint.
